In a gripping IPL 2024 match at Mullanpur, Rahul Tewatia emerged as the standout performer for Gujarat Titans, orchestrating a thrilling three-wicket win over Punjab Kings. Tewatia’s stellar unbeaten 36 from just 18 deliveries was pivotal in GT's successful chase of a 143-run target, securing the victory with five balls remaining.

The chase was set up by an exceptional bowling display from Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore, who claimed impressive figures of 4 for 33, effectively curtailing PBKS’s batting line-up to a modest total of 142. This performance underpinned a crucial game for GT, reinforcing Kishore’s role as a key player in the team’s strategic bowling attack.

Punjab Kings, under the leadership of stand-in skipper Sam Curran, started on a strong note after electing to bat first. Prabhsimran Singh was particularly aggressive, scoring 35 runs off just 21 balls. However, the innings took a turn for the worse after his dismissal by Mohit Sharma, who managed to get him caught behind.

This was a significant blow to PBKS, as they struggled to regain momentum. Sai Kishore's exceptional spin bowling further dismantled the middle and lower order, with Kishore finishing with figures of 4 for 33 in his four overs. His performance was crucial in restricting PBKS to a total of just 142 all out, achieved in the full quota of 20 overs.

In response to PBKS's total, the Gujarat Titans opened their innings with Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill. They provided a steady start but were unable to accelerate the scoring due to tight bowling from PBKS. Saha managed a boundary off Kagiso Rabada but was soon dismissed for 13 runs off 11 balls by a short delivery from Arshdeep Singh, which he edged to the mid-wicket fielder. Shubman Gill then tried to anchor the innings, but the required run rate was climbing, creating pressure on the GT batsmen.
